The SIGMA 85mm F1.4 DG HSM Art lens is the perfect choice for portrait photographers who require a lens with a large diameter and superior resolution. This lens meets both requirements at the highest level, with an extremely precise bokeh that allows for attractive and natural blurring in front of and behind the focal point. The lens is constructed with 12 groups of lens elements, including special low dispersion (SLD) glass elements and optimized power distribution to minimize longitudinal chromatic aberrations. The newly developed HSM (Hyper Sonic engine) delivers fast autofocus, and the lens is compatible with the connection converter MC-11. The nearly round aperture consists of 9 aperture blades and provides a very pleasant bokeh outside the focal plane of the picture. The lens is part of the Art product line, designed for unsurpassed expressiveness, and is made in Japan with SIGMA’s integrated production system. The lens is equipped with ASP (aspherical correction) and HSM (Hyper Sonic engine) technology, and features IF (internal focusing) for faster and quieter focusing.

descriptionOriginal | SIGMA 85 mm F1,4 DG HSM Art Portrait photographers require an attractive bokeh that only offer large-diameter lenses, as well as a superior resolution. Since the SIGMA 85mm F1.4 DG HSM, Art representing the high standards of the Art product line, it meets both requirements at the highest level. The extremely precise bokeh makes it possible, for example, to focus on the pupil of the model and at the same time make the eyelashes blur. Add to this impressive bokeh, the focus area is extremely high resolution. In the SIGMA 85mm F1.4 DG HSM, Type 14 lens elements are built in 12 groups – a remarkable structure that brings the ultra-high resolution of the lens. Therefore, this lens is an excellent choice for full-frame DSLRs with a resolution of 50 megapixels and more. Outstanding resolving power and minimized chromatic aberration contribute to the 85mm F1.4 DG HSM, Art is the ultimate lens for portraits properties construction Special low dispersion (SLD) glass elements and optimized power distribution help minimize longitudinal chromatic aberrations. In the areas in front of and behind the focal point, the optical system provides an attractive and natural bokeh, with an absolutely gentle sharpness, with virtually no streaking. Newly developed HSM for a fast AF The redesigned HSM (Hyper Sonic engine) delivers 1.3 times the speed of its predecessor. Even at low speeds, it offers exceptionally stable performance and the improved AF algorithm contributes to fast autofocus. In addition, thanks to the manual override function, turning the focus ring even in the focus tracking AF mode allows manual focusing. So the perfect focus point is found quickly, without first having to press the focus switch. Compatible with the connection converter MC-11 Owners of different camera systems can now use their valuable lenses flexibly and Sony E-mount camera owners can enjoy a bright medium telephoto lens. properties Round aperture The nearly round aperture consists of 9 aperture blades and provides a very pleasant bokeh outside the focal plane of the picture. The Super Multi-Layer Compensation (SML) prevents reflections and ghosting for sharp and high-contrast images. SIGMA USB dock With this USB dock the new SIGMA lenses of the product lines Contemporary, Art and Sports can be adapted to the personal needs of every photographer. For this purpose we have developed a special software (SIGMA Optimization Pro), with which you can easily update the lens firmware and, for example, Adjust focus parameters Own A1 MTF measuring system We have our own A1 MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) measurement system, which uses the 46 megapixel Foveon direct image sensor. Using this system, we review every lens of our new product line in our factory. Even previously unrecognizable high-frequency details have now become auditable as part of our quality control, which allows us to deliver consistently high lens performance. properties SIGMA connection change service We offer our customers our fee-based connection change service. As part of this service, we convert the connection of the lenses of the product lines Contemporary, Art and Sports by replacing all relevant parts on customer request. Made in Japan We are focused on optimizing the quality with our integrated production system, with our own hands and our own techniques. We are one of the few manufacturers whose products are exclusively "Made in Japan". We are proud of the authentic quality of SIGMA products as a result of a combination of highly specialized expertise and intelligent modern technology. Type – product line Designed for unsurpassed expressiveness, our Art Product line lenses are for those who seek high-performance, high-performance lenses for artistic freedom. DG Lenses The DG lenses are designed for demanding use on digital SLR cameras up to full format. These lenses illuminate the full 35mm-KB format and are therefore equally suitable for use on 35mm film SLR cameras as well as digital SLR cameras. By using modern tempering techniques, ghosting is successfully eliminated by reflections on the surface of the sensor while achieving a balanced color balance. ASP – aspherical correction Normally, near-edge rays are more strongly refracted toward the center when passing through a lens than near-axis rays. The aspherical correction of an optical system eliminates numerous aberrations at once. The sharpness is achieved over the entire image field and the distortion is reduced to a minimum. Almost all our lenses are equipped with at least one aspherical lens element. HSM – Hyper Sonic engine HSM Ultrasonic Motor (Hyper Sonic Motor) – HSM lenses use a motor powered by ultrasonic waves. This technology provides you with a very fast, accurate and almost silent type of auto focus. Two different types of HSM ultrasonic drive are used in our lenses. First, the HSM ring motor, which is mainly installed in the high-quality EX lenses. This HSM drive allows you to manually engage in AF operation at any time. On the other hand, an HSM micromotor is primarily used in compact lenses, the so-called all-round zoom lenses. Here a manual intervention in the AF operation is not possible. IF – internal focusing For inner focus lenses, only one or more lens groups are moved inside the lens for focus. This results in many advantages, as with rear-focus lenses: the inner focus ensures faster and quieter focusing. With IF lenses, the length of the lens remains constant during focusing and the front lens does not rotate, allowing you to conveniently use polar filters and a tulip-shaped lens hood. Since the length of the lens remains constant during focusing, there is no noticeable shift in focus during focusing. As a result, the lens is well balanced at all times. |
